Owners Found

This morning we arrived at school and just happened to see a flyer for a missing dog. Sure enough it was the one we had found on Friday. Her name is "Saige" and we are giving her back to her owners this afternoon. We are very excited that she has someone that loves her and hope they will watch her more carefully in the future :)

A Sweet Stray

Friday afternoon we went on a hike to the fire tower at Moses Cone Park. Mr. Elwood (Evan's roommate's dog) accompanied us and was as excited as usual to go on a walk. About 2.5 miles into our hike we stumbled upon a sweet stray dog. She greeted us and tried to play with Elwood. By the time we made it up to the fire tower she appeared again, so we decided to loop Elwood's leash through her collar and take her with us. Below are some pictures of her. She is about 10 pounds underweight but very well house-trained. We have posted her information on the local humane society but hope to find her a home soon if she is not claimed.

As for now we are happy to have a new dog in our life :) Her new name is Layla

A Snowy Week in Boone

After three days of snow, we finally decided to take some pictures of it! These pictures were taken in Blowing Rock at Bass Lake. The lake was completely frozen so it was quite a sight.

A proposal and an Acceptance

EXTRA! EXTRA!

On a cold and windy
Saturday( 1/10/09) on the Blue Ridge Parkway, a proposal was made by Evan, where upon an acceptance was made by Leah. This joyous occasion was marked by tears from Leah and a great sense of relief by Evan. Additionally, Evan stated " dont we get presents for this?". The moment had been over three years in the making since their igniting of love. Friends and Family were equally excited to hear the news and all began the immediate nagging of having to know plans of the wedding. E&L immediately put to rest these inquiries by informing all parties that "...due to upcoming events like graduation and relocating to a new place, adding the pressures of planning a wedding was something we do not wish to take on in the near future." As of now the couple plans to exchange vows in the summer of 2011 in the mountains of North Carolina.
